Water for your Bonsai

HOW TO HAVE ENOUGH WATER TO WATER YOUR BONSAI

The following are steps you can take to ensure you have enough water for your bonsai trees –
1.   Install a rainwater tank
2.   Put a bucket in the shower to collect the water while you are adjusting the shower temperature.
3.   Save the rinse water from your washing machine. Use your laundry sink to catch this water but check that you have an overflow outlet so you don’t flood the laundry if your machine has a large capacity.

The water from 2 and 3 can be stored in drums that you can seal off so you do not get mozzies breeding in it.
You can dumk water your trees in a tray such as the storage bins with lids you can purchase. I got mine from Crazy Clarkes. Organic fertilizers can be added to this watering method for feeding your trees. Any left over water in your tray can be poured around the plants in the garden.
Hosing from your rain water tank is best if you have a large collection. I am not sure but I heard that rainwater tanks for garden purposes only can be filled from re-cycle water that you can purchase.
